Shoulder & Knee Arthroscopy to Arthroplasty Symposium
Current concepts in shoulder and knee orthopaedics and rehabilitation
From Injury to Play!
Dear friends and colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the Shoulder & Knee Arthroscopy to Arthroplasty Symposium 2027. This year’s motto, From Injury to Play, captures what SKAA 2027 is all about: following the patient through the entire journey, from injury or diagnosis, through surgery and rehabilitation, to returning to sport, work, and everyday life.
Instead of lectures, the heart of SKAA 2027 is case-based discussion. Faculty and participants will work through real clinical cases – shoulder and knee – from the first consultation to the final follow-up. Each case opens the floor to debate: Was this the right indication? Was the timing right? What would you have done differently? How should rehabilitation be planned and progressed? When is the patient truly ready to play again?
Across all sessions, sports medicine experts, physicians, physiotherapists and kinesiologists will bring the non-operative and rehabilitation perspective to every case: deciding when surgery is needed and when it is not, protecting the repair in the early phase, restoring strength and movement, objectively assessing readiness, and guiding the athlete or active patient safely back to full performance.
SKAA 2027 is for everyone involved in caring for the injured shoulder and knee – orthopaedic and trauma surgeons, sports medicine experts, physicians, physiotherapists, kinesiologists, residents and students. Whether you operate, treat, rehabilitate, or do all three, you will leave with practical ideas you can apply the very next day and with new colleagues across professional boundaries.
Warm regards,
The Organising Committee

SKAA 2027 takes place at the Grand Hotel Bernardin, part of the St. Bernardin Resort on the seafront between Portorož and Piran. The five-star hotel houses the largest hotel congress centre in Slovenia. The whole symposium – lectures, battles, re-live surgery and the poster battles – runs in a single conference hall, with the exhibition, coffee breaks and lunch right next to it, and the sea a few steps away.
